Shalom yall!

We’ve moved onto our second country – ISRAEL – which we’ll be studying for the month of October. How fitting is it that we get to explore my favorite country during the month of my birth? Happy birthday to meeeeee 🙂 .

If you got a chance to watch my latest YouTube video, you know that the first week of the month is spent learning about those basic country facts – location, capital city, language, flag, etc – and so the boys spent lots of time finding Israel on various maps and mastering that basic information. Our main project for this week focused on a song they were already familiar with called  ארץ ישראל שלי (Erets Yisrael Sheli); we learned the words, sang it several times together, then the boys drew and painted a visual representation of the song. I know I’m biased, but trust me when I say they did a damn good job!

(You can find the atlas here.)

We’ve also added the bishop to our chess lessons, so we’re now playing with both the pawn and bishop. Mr. K is catching on quite nicely, and does a really good job of avoiding being captured (because I play with NO MERCY 😈). We have a couple of neat activities planned as we get closer to Yom Kippor, including a middot scale (more on that early next week).

(Check my Instagram and Facebook pages for details on these two fun letter-learning activities.)

My Littles finished up their Brown Bear, Brown Bear unit with a couple of fun food-based activities I put together, aside from what we’ve been doing. You can check my IG or FB pages for more details, and enjoy the pics below!

Shabbat shalom!
